Ron and Tina Pack dream of establishing Smithfield Virginia as a historic destination, just as nice as the neighboring waterfront communities.

1984
November 24th 1986

The Inn, Restaurant, and Marina opens for business!

1987
1987

During a visit to Berlin, Germany, President Ronald Reagan challenged Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall.

The first Poker Run was held. This annual event still takes place the second Saturday in July.

First Raft Race. This event is still a tradition every year in June.

The Lighthouse and raw bar open.

Raw bar is converted to guest rooms. Historic Downtown Main Street is revitalized with an extensive beautification project

The Inner Banks (IBX) bar and grill opens and second generation, Randy Pack officially joins the Station.

The town of Smithfield celebrates its 250th anniversary by constructing the world’s largest Ham Biscuit and is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ron and Tina Pack's second son, Brian Pack, officially joins the family business!

Hurricane Isabel creates a 9.5-foot surge, the highest recorded tide ever. Smithfield Station undergoes major repairs and renovations.

The Smithfield Station Lodge and Shops open. Smithfield Station Marina is expanded.

Fitness Center is added and Windsor Castle Park is dedicated!

Randy Pack is the recipient of Inside Business' Top 40 Under 40 Award!

Inn was remodeled to match the Lodge Hotel Rooms. Randy and Brian Pack create Pack Brothers Hospitality and take control of Surry Seafood Co. in Surry, Virginia.
